Service description

SCANDIC DATA is an independent provider of data center, hosting and cloud services. The offering includes colocation space, dedicated servers, virtual machines, container platforms, databases, storage solutions and AI-enabled compute resources. The services are aimed at companies, public authorities, media companies and research institutions that have high requirements in terms of availability, scalability and security. SCANDIC DATA does not operate its own applications for end customers, but provides infrastructure for the operation of websites, applications, payment and media platforms of the SCANDIC GROUP and external customers.

Our services are embedded in the infrastructure of the SCANDIC GROUP across all brands: Payment processing takes place via SCANDIC PAY, identity and compliance checks via SCANDIC TRUST, media and news services via LEGIER MEDIA. If required, supplementary services (e.g. transportation and logistics solutions, real estate brokerage or trading platforms) are provided via the Group's respective brands. These additional services are clearly identified as separate options and are not bundled with the infrastructure services.

Consumer information and dispute resolution

The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution (ODR platform) (https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr). Consumers can use this for the out-of-court settlement of disputes. SCANDIC DATA generally provides B2B services; should consumer contracts nevertheless be concluded, we fulfill the information obligations according to §§ 312c ff. BGB. We are not obliged and not willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board, unless we are obliged to do so by law.

Value added tax

Unless otherwise stated, all prices quoted are exclusive of the applicable statutory VAT. In the case of cross-border services, VAT is charged in accordance with the provisions of the German VAT Act and the EU VAT Directive.

Applicable law

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply, insofar as no mandatory consumer protection provisions of another country conflict with this. Berlin shall be the exclusive place of jurisdiction for legal disputes if the contractual partner is a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law. In addition, special provisions of Bahraini law may apply to technical operational aspects of the data center; in such cases, the provisions of the PDPL and the Bahraini regulatory authority shall apply.
